How Teens Can Make Cash

Teenagers are always looking for ways to make cash. With the high cost of designer clothing, NFL sports wear, music and movies, parents simply cannot afford everything that a teenager wants. Most teens know that the only way that they can get the things they want is to make cash. Unfortunately, many states have changed the driving laws to only allow drivers over the age of eighteen unlimited privileges. This makes getting cash much harder for the average teenager. Here are some ways that you can make cash as a teen when you do not have that driving freedom.

The best way for teens without a car or license to make cash is through the people in their own neighborhood. These are the people that you grew up with. You can trust them and they can trust you. After all, if you scam them or do not do a good job, they know your parents and they know where you live! The first thing that you should do when you want to make cash is go door to door in your neighborhood and find out what services people need or want.

Often teens can make cash by working for busy households or retirees by mowing lawns, raking leaves, or dog walking. Gardening, window washing, washing cars, general house cleaning, or trimming hedges can also be great ways to make cash as a teenager. If there are a lot of families in the neighborhood, you can even try posting flyers offering cheap after school and weekend babysitting.

Another way that teens can make cash is through a paper route. Many large newspapers now require carriers to be eighteen or older. However, smaller community papers often still allow teens to run their paper routes. This can be done easily on a bicycle, motor bike, skateboard, or on foot. Locally run small businesses may also allow teens to make cash by distributing flyers throughout their neighborhood.

If all else fails, teens can go around to local businesses within walking distance. Most convenience stores require workers to be over eighteen or twenty one. However, grocery stores will hire teens as stockers and fast food joints will hire teens as cooks. You can also check out local small movie theaters for cleaning or ushering jobs. These types of jobs will give teens the ability to make the most cash. However, in some areas these types of jobs are few and far between.

You don’t need a cleaning tip to know that everyone hates window cleaning. The old joke about hiring household help has always been that you can’t find anyone to do windows. There is no way to eliminate the need for cleaning glass, and there is certainly no way to do it without working. We can speed up the process with a little help from our old friend the pressure washer.

Prior to actually cleaning the windows, remove all screens and carry them to an area where they can be stood up against a wall, pressure washed, and left to dry. Be sure that they are sitting on a clean solid surface, and wash from both sides to remove all dirt and debris.

Next, pressure wash all the exterior glass as well as frames and doors. If your house needs cleaning on the exterior, this is a good time to handle that, too. If you simply clean glass and then someone comes later to wash the siding, you have wasted your time to clean the windows in the first place.

When you have sufficiently cleaned the glass with the pressure washer, you are ready for the real work. Depending on the type of windows you have, one person may be able to do an adequate job of window washing, but one cleaning tip that is always true is two people are needed to clean windows.

If you have tilt window sashes, you can stay inside the house and clean the sash that folds out, but if only one tilts, it is still difficult to clean the upper sash. To best utilize resources, two people cleaning windows can complete the task in less than half the time of one person.

If your windows are wood framed, you might have grids in them that can be removed from the inside. Take the grids out, clean them in a bathtub, and let them dry while you clean the glass. Each window cleaner needs plenty of cloths or paper towels, spray window cleaner, and a razor scraper for hard to remove spots. Cloth is better for cleaning because there is no residue left on the window. Paper towels leave lint particles on the glass, but do an adequate job in a pinch.

Another cleaning tip for you is that when using a razor blade to scrape something off glass, you should always spray the area with water or window cleaner to assure that the blade glides over the glass without scratching it.

A window-cleaning job should go very quickly if you follow these simple steps and have the proper help. Because washing windows is such an unpleasant task, do a good job any time you clean for it might mean fewer times that you must perform the work.

Tragic household accidents happen every day. Poisonings, drowning, and suffocation fill the evening news. No parent should ever have to deal with the heartbreak and regret that follows a preventable accident. Here are some common household dangers everyone should be aware of.

Medications

Pills look a lot like candy and liquid medications resemble juice. According to the CDC, 568,939 children were unintentionally exposed to pharmaceuticals between 2001 and 2003. While most of these cases were not deadly, they could have been. 95 percent of poisoning deaths in the US are due to medications. Medications must be stored in childproof containers in high, locked cabinets.

Cleaning Supplies

Household cleaning products may be harmful and even fatal to children if ingested. Liquid detergents and sprays are often brightly colored and resemble juice. Keep all cleaning chemicals out of reach, preferably up high and in a locked cupboard. Never leave cleaning supplies under the sink, even if it has a child safety latch.

Standing Water

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that 350 children under the age of 5 drown each year in swimming pools. Yet it’s not just pools that are dangerous. Any amount of standing water is hazardous to small children. Bathtubs, buckets, toilets, and hot tubs also present a drowning risk. Never leave standing water anywhere a child may get into it.

Drapery/ Blind Cords

Hanging cords can lead to strangulation. The Consumer Product Safety Commission recorded 160 strangulations involving window blinds between 1991 and 2000. Cords must be kept out of a child’s reach at all times.

Plastic Bags

Dry cleaning bags, garbage bags, and plastic grocery bags are all dangerous for small children and can lead to suffocation. Promptly dispose of or recycle plastic bags.

Latex Balloons

Children love playing with balloons. However, latex balloons can be a choking hazard and suffocation risk. Since 1973, at least 110 children have chocked to death on a balloon. If inhaled, a balloon completely blocks the airways. Don’t let a young child attempt to blow up a balloon, bite an inflated balloon, or chew on a deflated balloon.

Washing Machines

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 20,000 children under 15 needed emergency room care for washing machine related injuries between 1993 and 2000. Children may become trapped inside and should never be allowed to play near a washing machine.

Perfumes and Personal Care Items

Perfumes and personal care items like mouthwash are the number one source of poisoning reported to US poison control centers. Keep all hygiene supplies out of children’s reach.

Driveway

Lack of supervision, even for a moment, can be dangerous. 116 children die in the US every year after being backed over in their own driveway. Never let children play in the driveway unsupervised, even for a moment.

Plants

Many common household plants are poisonous for children. These include butter cups, catnip plants, English Ivy, Hydrangea, Iris, Lily of the Valley, and many others. Be sure to research online to see if your houseplants are safe for children.

Cleaning Pavers By Using High Pressure Cleaning

Have you ever tried cleaning pavers by yourself? If you have, you would know what a tedious and wearisome task it is. There is no way all the scrubbing in the world is going to get those pavers clean. With brick pavers, the dirt and grime that accumulates tends to settle deep inside the grooves and cavities, making it extremely difficult to clean.

Saving money is good provided we save on the right things in life. When you’ll begin to imagine yourself on your knees for all eternity scrubbing the dirt accumulated on your pavers, you will soon pick up the phone and call for help. Who exactly to call for help is a tangible question? You will find several high pressure cleaning companies who provide excellent pressure washing services for a wide variety of exterior surfaces.

They mostly use water and some cleaning agents to fight stubborn stains. Mostly the high velocity of the water being jetted onto the surface is quite sufficient to get rid of any debris no matter how deeply it is embedded.

Before actually getting started with cleaning pavers or any other type of cleaning like driveway cleaning or siding cleaning, let’s go through few pre-requisites which you should keep in mind.

When you decide its time to call in the pressure cleaning professionals you need to first:

Walk around the outside of your property and study the actual exterior surfaces you are planning to use pressure cleaning on. The reason for doing this is to check up on broken glass panes, missing boards, holes, missing insulation, etc.

Pressure cleaning involves jetting water at high PSI onto the exterior surfaces of your home. If there are broken window panes or missing boards the water will surge inside your house. Surely you wouldn’t want the beautiful new Bukhara rug you bought to be drenched! Water damage inside the home can be extensive and prohibitively expensive to undo – there are pressure washers that release water at even 4000 psi. Hence, there should be absolutely no way for water to enter your house through any aperture.

Next you need to protect your plants from water damage and chemicals that maybe used in brick cleaning and pavers cleaning. Would you want to upset your partner by spoiling his/her favorite rose garden or vegetable garden, would you? Talk to the pressure cle
1000
aning company to find a solution to protect your plants. You can discuss these points when they come to do the survey of your property.

It is advisable to choose a company that preferably uses biodegradable/ environmental friendly cleaners. Chemicals should be in a highly diluted form around plants. You can also put tarp or plastic sheets over the plants; plastic drums are another option depending on how many plants you have.

Finally, don’t forget to relocate your pet(s) away from the exterior surface where the pressure cleaning is being implemented. Dogs love to play in water and this can be really dangerous! Hence, you may want to leave them in a kennel facility or any other secure place of your house.

Cleaning the windows of your house can be daunting. Especially if you count how many windows there are. It’s certainly not an easy task, but nor is it that impossible to do. Some neat strategies exist to make window washing a breeze.

First off, you should know that cleaning windows takes more than just spraying bottles with good smelling blue liquid and a roll of paper towels. It’s a real cleaning job that could only be done properly with a bucket of soapy water, a scrubber on a handle, a squeegee and of course, a hardworking cleaner…you!

The bucket does not have to be new, as long as your scrubber would fit, any will do. But try to at least invest in a quality scrubber and good squeegee. They would last for years, and accompany you through all your window washing days.

A good smelling, pretty -looking and expensive liquid does not necessarily help you make a good job of cleaning windows. The basic cleaning liquid is simply just water. When your windows are not that in a bad shape, or you’re just doing some cleaning to maintain greaseless windows or dustless windows, water is enough to do all these tasks amazingly. Detergents and other cleaners should be used only when your windows are a tough job, and not all types of detergents can be used either.

Choosing a detergent for your window washing spree is important. The detergent or the liquid need not be expensive, in fact, dish detergent works quite really well, and this is very cheap. Remember though not to use too much dish detergent or you’ll have streaks on your windows instead of cleaning them. About a half a teaspoon in a two gallon bucket will do it. Adding vinegar would make the solution work better. Aside from dish detergents, you can use ammonia in small amounts, a laundry detergent of about half a teaspoon or just a small trickle of shampoo. All these can do the trick and none of them are expensive.

After scrubbing the windows with your solution, the windows should be dried immediately using the squeegee. Drying with your squeegee requires necessary steps as well. It would be more efficient to start at one top corner, and then draw it straight down. And to keep the water from running all over the area you just dried, the next swipe should be in a slight angle away from that area.

There, it’s not that hard to clean windows right? You just have to learn a few tricks to make it way easier than you imagine. But, if you are really tired and don’t want to do this chore, then you could opt to contact a maid service to do the job for a minimal fee.

Brett Burks has been in the residential cleaning services since childhood. If you are in need of learning more about ways to keep your house or office clean then you should head on over to the website at maid service in Orlando.
